My Favorite Lesbian
57I am not Alone!
After many days of bad noise, illness, and flashbacks I have scrapped every word I wrote on an article I've been developing since Monday. I have decided to give my first Journalistic nod to a fellow member of the Fourth Estate who despite having two big corporate media engines to back her up is about to get a free thumbs up from me. Rachel Maddow I cannot afford to give anything away, period, but today I give you praise. Today you raised my spirits more then the Inauguration.
Let's go back a bit.
A fan of KPOJ here in Portland before my self-exile to rural North Carolina I have become a regular fan of The Rachel Maddow show as part of my daily diet of Politics. We are common souls for we agree that ladies and infrastructure are both sexy and to be accorded due respect. She has what I ultimately long for, a voice. She is, to the left of center and all the way out to me on the left of Lenin, the much needed 'Well Duh' on so many issues from the economy to civil liberties. She began the week doing a piece with Janet Napolitano our new Director of Homeland Security about the tribal drug lord ruled boarder region of Mexico and the United States. The gist I got from their discussion was that the US would continue it's current policy of prohibition and seizure instead of looking at the crazed drug lords and say 'if those fools can make money off this plant why can't we?' As you can Imagine I was writing my vicious tirade even as I rode the bus to meet a good friend and drug dealer and discuss conspiracies to commit crimes. Moo-ah-hahah. When I was safely back under military protection I was inspired to work on some fiction and when I went back to the blog I veered off onto a horrible tangent about the time when I was 19 and I ate 18 hits of acid and went stark raving naked and crazy. The memories alone were enough to induce psychedelic effects, my normal behavior only exacerbated the matter. Then today I see that Rachel will be doing a report about the new Drug Czar. I was hoping the post had been forgotten (to the president's credit it is no longer a cabinet post)
I sat myself in front of the TV machine ill prepared for what was to come. From the opening of the piece to it's conclusion I was reaffirming my deepest affection for Dr. Maddow. When the good Doctor started preaching the lift prohibition to stimulate the economy Gospel I had a cerebral orgasm. I know I shouldn't think about you that way Doctor, but rational discussion of policy is hot.
All misguided sexual innuendos aside Rachel Maddow has officially cracked the corporate media silence on lifting the prohibition as a form of economic stimulus. I am pushing it a step further and challenging all my readers to contact the President, Barack Obama, and your Congressional Delegation and let them know that a second stimulus bill, which is being discussed, must contain a plan to end the prohibition on cannabis and bring the commercial growth and distribution under normal agricultural and consumer safety regulation and revenue tax guide lines. Then when you are done email anyone you have ever shared a bowl with and ask them to do the same. Rachel, if you come to Portland, I am sure you'll have cooler people to say hello to then me.

I know, some more green dreams as I know the government ultimately couldn't take responsibility for the product, good or bad. And besides they sell us enough dirt as it.
I really have just realized what a sad existence we are all allowing to occur. I would actually do the opposite. Impose huge fines for individual use and really crack down on drugs. The effects on mental health alone - are ridiculous and who wants the next generation to see it as ok. Why should I lean over my fence to see my neighbours 3 yr old playing in the back yard whilst mummy and daddy are wacked out?
Mummy and Daddy are also school teachers? Umm does this say anything about how our society is really that disallusioned that so many people need to stick a joint in their mouth because they cant face the next day???
Our government is missing a golden opportunity here. But somehow, I hold out little hope they'll figure it out.
Love your arguments. Love Rachel Maddow, too! MM
Oh! I get it!

I just left a comment on my own hub that I think the government can nationalize this drug, take all profits, lower taxes, pay for the justice system that is way too overburdend with costs and sky's the limit!
I'm gettin' all cottonmouth and hungry just thinking about it.
